Online

All International Training Network online courses take place on our online "learning zone" which is easy and enjoyable to use. One of the key features of the learning zone is the opportunity it provides to interact with other participants through "postings" on discussion boards or "forums".

Every participant is assigned a tutor who is available throughout the course for advice and support, and provides feedback on assignments.

Our online courses may be taken individually, working at your own pace. Alternatively, you may wish to find a group of friends (who may or may not live near each other) and enrol and work online together as a group. If members of a group are in the same location they can supplement this by meeting face-to-face for discussion and project work together.

Everyone who joins an online course automatically becomes a member of our Network Online community. This allows free, permanent access to an online zone where you can continue to interact with others. The zone also contains ideas and resources for classroom activities and information about English teaching opportunities worldwide.

TESOL PRACTICAL TOOLKIT COURSE

In addition, some English teaching activities are suggested for you to try out with your English-speaking or international friends. Each unit includes one or two short assignments which are marked by your online tutor.

A published teacher training book: "Learning to Teach English" by Peter Watkin is an optional extra resource for those who wish to buy it. References to chapters of the book make supplementary reading an easy addition to the course.

Length of course

Enrolment may be made for the complete course or *for module one only, with optional subsequent enrolment for module two. (*Modular option available from January 2009). The time taken to complete the course will vary, as participants work at their own pace. Average times are:

  • Complete course: 40 hours
  • Module one: 25 hours
  • Module two: 15 hours

Many candidates complete the whole course within 3 or 4 months.

An International Training Network certificate is awarded on successful completion of an individual module or the complete course.
